End of Day 1
 
It's almost 1 am. I can't sleep, minor sweats and manageable anxiety. I'm thankful to have made it past the hardest mental part for me. The first day of not caving into the desire to pour a drink.

Day 2 will be easier. I will go to work, then take the dogs to the park. I will also catch up on reading my book for the small group I'm in. Most importantly I won't drink.

Time to take back my life. One day at a time.

Hi Sinderos ,
the way that you phrase that makes it seem like you've got alcohol around ?

Use day 2 to ditch it , poor it away , give it to someone , take it down the dump . throw the empties or any stash that might be lurking .. get someone sober to help ?

I found wrapping my pillow in a bath towel helped wick any moisture away to make sleeping more comfy .

No alcohol around, but the store is a quarter of a mile away. Very easy to stop and get some. I took it out and threw it all away yesterday morning.

Sounds like the withdrawals are relatively mild. Hope you can take advantage of that and keep going. Its possible you could be feeling really good in the next day or two.
