Life without booze
Life without booze
Today I watched a good friend of mine blaze a trail of accomplishment in the Boston Marathon.
Afterward, I met up with he and four other friends of his - all runners - for sushi.
One of them has done Leadville... a grueling ultramarathon in the mountains of Colorado. Another was a recent finisher of the Berkley Marathons.... one of the most challenging and rare ultras out there.
We had sushi and laughed and shared stories of adventures - in running and in life. We connected as new friends. We talked of plans to get together again for a trail ultra event in the future. We smiled and felt healthy and joyous and good.
And we all drank water.
There's a whole world out there, and none of it requires booze.
There's a whole world out there.... and it turns out.... it's really quite wonderful without booze.

The vast majority of the world either doesn't drink or drinks normally. I found this very had to believe in the beginning because I only wanted to associate with people that drank a lot. When I got sober I realized what an incredible world there is out there that has nothing to do with alcohol
