Day #4
Hello.. I quit the drink four days ago and I feel great already. I've quit many times, for two weeks here or there and the longest time was for 40 days, but that actual 40th day, was New Years Eve and i weakened, had a few and then was back into my drinking, full on again. But this time, is it. I'm sick of it ruining my life. My partner is pretty much about to move out and i certainly don't want that, but i want to quit for my health and memory problems and my behaviour when sozzled. I'm almost 49 y/o, have grandchildren now and it's time to pull my head in and get well.. Just joined this site tonight and have read a few blogs and don't feel quite so alone now!.. It's lovely to be able to write about it and share.. Goodnight all and thankyou to this great site.. 😃😃
Welcome!
Have you thought about what you can do differently this time to make sure that this is it? There is a lot more to recovery then just not drinking or using drugs. Meetings, counseling, new hobbies, staying away from people/places/things, going to doctors to get healthy- yearly physicals, get blood work checked, dentist, et.c
The more effort you put into your recovery, the stronger your recovery will be which in turn makes you stronger and stronger.
