Cravings....for sweets!

Hi all, as some of you know, I just reached the 6 month mark of sobriety. And while I do have the occasional craving for vino, the thorn in my side right now is my unrelenting quest for chocolate, ice cream, etc. I lost a bunch of weight when I first became sober, but it's creeping back on thanks to my sugar demons! I had a sweet tooth as a kid, but I can't remember it being this compelling. I know it's pretty typical to want sugar after you stop drinking, but does it go away? When? Made the mistake of baking chocolate chip cookies "for the kids" and I ate half of them!:a043:

Oh, I can't help you. I still have that sugar craving.

Congrats on 6 months!

I combat my sugar cravings with lots of fruit. Seems to work for me. :lmao

Congratulations on six months!! I am on the sweets binge too! And this coming from someone that has never been overly fond of them (I've always been a potato chip, crackers n cheese, salty snack girl) Well heck, not drinking makes me want to eat all of the above! and DRINK POP which was typically maybe one or two a week and not a whole can or bottle. (Now I'm up to 3 or more a day) I agree that fruit can help, I eat bananas every day and lots of apples (Michigan, so nothings in season yet) Good luck :)
