Detox Hi, I am day 10 on detox this is huge for me I am 38 and have been drinking for 12 years downing 2 bottles of wine a night and still wanting more. I decided to stop for my marriage and my kids. I am truly amazed I have made it this far as I stopped cold turkey no help just by the grace of God. I have had insane sugar cravings which I never ate sweets before. For now I'm eating chocolate and ice cream which I never cared for before. I am however craving margaritas really bad all the time I am trying my hardest to stay away from alcohol, I went to the store earlier and didn't even realize I was walking down the wine aisle I'm assuming that was out of habit as soon as I looked up and saw where I was I looked straight down and reversed out of there. It felt good I was able to do that. Meanwhile I'm sleeping much better and saving money I'm praying this sobriety continues day by day.... Praying for you guys! |
Welcome, Springsun! I hope you have found a permanent recovery. Read around and post often--it works if you work it! |
Thank you, reading post on this sight alone is encouraging. Have a blessed one |
Hi springsun:) Do you have a recovery plan? There is a link for them somewhere in here. There's lots of good reading to be had around the site. Come join us in the April class! :) Welcome to SR and sober life :D |
I do not yet I'm taking it day by day, new to this sight not sure how to join the April class I'm trying to get familiar with this sight. How would I go about joining ? |

Thanks coldfusion I did respond to someone on this link earlier thank you for the help:headbange |
Sugar and salt in my experience from being in Detox are very common for myself and others I met. Sounds like you are doing great, agree with having a plan in place. All the best Andrew |
Welcome Springsun congratulations on day 10 |
Thank you soberwolf I find myself trying to avoid any arguments in my house, it's really hard they don't understand the changes I'm going through any thing trigger me to go off the deep end. Life is usual for them it's not there fault I put myself in this situation but it makes it hard that's for sure as my answer was hit the bottle I'm now having to face daily challenges as a normal person and not turn to the bottle.... It's a shame how dependent I became to alcohol and blocked evreything out. |
Welcome to the family. :) |

Funny, we give up something and get addicted to something else. I much rather it be sweet unhealthy junk anytime lol |
