day 4 need some support
I'm on day 4 and I'm doing OK, but I feel odd. I don't wanna use and I'm looking forward to cleaning and
tea and watching television tonight I can't explain the feeling kinda short fused and moody and I need that something to make me happy. I don't know what to do really
I actually tried to post this earlier but it wouldnt work. I actually feel better now and excited for my sober evening

Sometimes I just let myself feel short fused and moody and yell at the TV or go for a walk and yell at people in my head. Don't know why, but it makes me laugh at myself and feel better.
Glad you are excited for your sober evening!

I think , in early recovery, we have to find new and healthy ways to bring happiness and peace into our lives. Walking works wonders for me, and so does music and a good book. Day 4 is awesome!
What D122y says is true--I could never make the connection between withdrawal symptoms and withdrawal. I simply knew I felt bad and using would fix it.
Give yourself a break and put some extra effort into recovery during these difficult times--things will get better.

My first few days completely off alcohol were very bumpy as far as my temper and mood go. I used some breathing techniques and continuing to experiment with meditation, keep at it and I want to congratulate you on day 5, I know it's tomorrow but I believe your will make it right onto day 6, I am looking forward to day 9 tomorrow
I know it's not easy, but give your mind and body a little time to recover Laura.
I forgot how to feel happy without drinking...in time, you'll re-discover that happiness doesn't come from a bottle too

Rigorous work outs are helping me then a good dinner when I get home. Been watching a lot of movies too. Many classics and blockbusters that I either missed or don't remember bc I was too hammered. Almost feels like getting some of the time back...
learning i didn't need something to make me "happy" (have to put it in quotation marks since by the time i stopped drinking didn't actually make me happy at all) and learning to be okay no matter how i feel....one of the hugely good things that can come with ongoing sobriety.
keep going. congratulations on your sober days.
