Start over again

Argh! I messed up a couple of days ago and got some wine.. I am sitting down now and creating a plan for this week. I can do this, I can do this! New goal 7 days, once I have that I will reach for 14. I can do this, I can do this! Planned to go to a meditation event tonight with my husband, so we will go get tea and tonight is covered for substance free mind expanding fun. This weekend is tough, I work in retail and have inventory this weekend. So, instead of a 9a-5p on saturday and a 6a-2pm on sunday, I will be working 8p-2a both days. I feel like it is so easy to want to drink after that. If I can keep myself from picking up a bottle on the way to work I will be safe. I can do this! I can do this!

If you have a smartphone, maybe you should check in here at 7:58 pm right before you walk into work. Let us know you didn't buy that wine. Build those accountability muscles to yourself and to others. This thread is a good start, now use it!

You can do this! You don't have to take that first drink no matter what.

You CAN do this. Sometimes it's one minute at a time, sounds cheesy but it's true.

Yes, you CAN do this, as long as you want to be sober more than you want to drink.

I'll be at work myself at that time but look forward to seeing that check-in when I get home.

You can do this! WE can do this!

Can your husband drive you to work so you won't stop on the way? Or follow you - I doubt he wants to pick you up at 2am :-)

I understand all too well that old desire (and habit) to stop and get wine after work. It was my routine for many years. Now, I couldn't imagine doing that again, going back to that place in my life.

Quiting is hard, everybody knows that. But you can do it. Formulate a plan and make tomorrow the beginning of a new, better, healthier, happier life!
