April 6th is Dee's anniversary! Nine years today!
Crikey - you're getting closer to officially becoming an Old Timer, chook!!
Absolutely wonderful news, Dee. Last I looked, you were sober 7 years, and I remember that blowing me away. Still does, for those of us who take years to get even one year.
Gee, I (vaguely) remember first starting to read / lurk all over SR well before joining in Nov. 2012. Then came my very first proper stint in rehab, rather than merely a short detox, as I did years earlier Spring 2009. So many hellish years...and there's been a few hellish times since too.
Yet, you've been there, all the way, alongside me and everyone in our journeys. And that's only the people we know about, i.e. registered members. Can you imagine how many more souls have been influenced by your work here on this amazing site?
Before you say: nah, I'm 'only a mod': I say BS to that. I'm a veteran of the internet from its earliest days, and can assure you that to moderate a rabble like us (a nice rabble :-)) WITH FEELING as Arlo Guthrie put it in Alice's Restaurant...that takes extraordinary personal qualities. Not least while you've been doing your own recovery work.

Dee, you are a beacon of hope for every new comer who walks through these doors and you have always been a shining example of recovery at its best, for me. Thank you for all you do and for who you are and most of all for being my friend.
