Seven Week Bender

So here i am again on day 2 sober after 7 weeks of heavy drinking following a break with my partner & a week on holiday celebrating my brothers 50th & remaining 'drunk as a lord' for 6 days... I forced myself to go cold turkey yesterday, no cheeky 'hair of the dogs' & actually thought i was going mad but managed to get through it although i had very little sleep over the last 72 hours (one of the hardest things i've done in a while)... Still feel like a wounded animal today, no energy, concentration ect but i'm going force on with this mega detox & hopefully feel human in a few days... PLEASE tell me i'm not going mad because my partner & 4 year old keep looking at me like i've stepped off another planet!!!

That's alcohol withdrawal, be careful with that, it can be dangerous.

Congrats on your decision!

I'm glad to hear you're on Day 2! Don't hesitate to call a dr or go to an ER if you are concerned because detoxing from alcohol can be dangerous and unpredictable.

Echoing what the others have said, form a recovery plan and call a doctor if you need to.

Remember, many of us have another bender in us, but we are not quite sure if we have another recovery. Be safe, and I wish you well.

Welcome back, I hope you start to feel better soon. If you feel really bad a trip to the ER may help.

I have learned the hard way that moderation doesn't work, and having a plan is essential to achieving sobriety. I am still in early sobriety, 93 days today, but I have had a plan in place from Day one, and have stuck to it.

Read through the link on plans, and spend time reading and posting on SR, it really helps. Also, you should join the April class. I joined the January class and have found it so supportive to have people who are in the same point of their journey.

You can do this!!

❤️Delilah

I hope you'll feel a little better in a day or two.

The really big question tho is, what's your plan so you never end up like this again bigfle?

There are some great ideas on plans here bogfle.
Take the time to read through and maybe think about what you might do to stay sober this time

Are you looking to quit drinking or just how to recover from the latest episode?

Eat something healthy. Force yourself to eat a good meal if you must but eat something.
