Why is day 6 harder than 1?

Day 6, more physical symptoms than any in the first 5 days, it doesn't make sense. Itching is crazy. Night sweats are down, but still occurring. I want to cleanse so badly!

I think it's more a physical adjusting and brain chemicals readjusting, my understanding is cleanses are a myth, your liver does all the cleansing that your body needs. So this takes time and is not always without it's ups and downs as far as symptoms in recovery. Just time and patience is all it takes- sometimes people still have symptoms even after some time due to PAWS. Alcohol does a number on e body and brain, stick with us you'll be ok. Just about anything one experiences in recovery has been experienced by someone on SR. You'll be o it just takes time!

Unfortunately there's a good deal of toing and froing as your mind and body heal.

The good news is this is a transition phase and it's not the way it will always be - I would usually start feeling better from a week to ten days...but everyone's different.

I hope you'll feel better soon and stay that way

I believe all of us have different metabolisms. Some fast, some not so fast. So it doesn't surprise me that it may take longer to flush the toxins from your system. The best thing you can do is keep going.

Your epidermis (skin) is your bodies largest organ. I think it needs to breath through your pores.

A professional suggested to shower twice a day, as toxins are seeping out your pores. I had similar symptoms. I showered almost daily. Almost 3 wks sober & thankfully, those particular symptoms have subsided.

I was told to drink lots of fresh lemon water. It suppose to help flush toxins out.

Hope you feel better soon.

First week is always the worst. You're getting the alcohol out of your system.

Remember, you probably spent more than 6 days drinking to get where you are now - so it will take some time for your body to heal itself. Hang in there, it will get better as long as you don't drink. Wishing you the best.
