Going off the rails

Haven't been to a mtg in a week. Feel like I don't need this hassle. My outpatient rehab is a joke. I know I'm keeping bad company. Me. Tomorrow I'm gonna go to a meeting. This always happens. Damn.

Your addiction will be giving you a dozen reasons why you shouldn't be in those meetings. You can beat it by turning up despite that. Keep fighting it.

I hope you can get to a meeting soon before you really do 'go off the rails'.

Early sobriety is basically just showing up. That's it in a nutshell. Show up for life. Show up at meetings. Call your sponsor. Talk to people. Ask for help. Show up and keep showing up and it will get easier.

Coming here and writing those thoughts down is a good idea. When you see them it's easier to realized that they are just your addiction trying to talk you out of doing the right thing. Glad to hear you are going to a meeting as well.

Hoping you get through this I know you can if you want to & make full use of the support here & at meetings keep reaching out I commend you for that & if you ever want to chat pm anytime

As for cravings try this aswell as playing the tape & phoning a sponsor or trusted friend

they say there are three reasons to get to a meeting:

1. Because you WANT to Go
2. Because you NEED to Go
and
3. Because you DON'T WANNA
