How much money will you (have you) saved not drinking?
I just looked at my bank account and Wow.. I will save on average about $400 a month from quitting booze. I took a 3 month tally and came to an astounding 1200 just at the liquor store. WTF... that's my car payment. No wonder I am always broke. And that is with my fiancé paying for most of the bar tabs.
Great question. Mostly wine and cans at home. The odd night out: drinks, rounds, taxis. I reckon I'm saving £4000 per year. That's 5751 US dollars.
Where did that money go? Down the toilet and robbed me of my sanity.

I'm struggling to understand how I managed to keep drinking as long as I did... the money stopped coming in around end of December... I quit drinking Feb 14th sooo...?? Still broke and clueless. But my counter says 2025$ I've saved in 6 weeks. My goodness. If only I wasn't spending air money on booze in the first place I'd be rich.
Oh yes I'd had this same thought...yea didn't work. Poor quality wine may have given me worse hangovers faster, but since better quality wine was more drinkable, I'd only drink way more of it, leading to the same end as the crap wine

In 51 days.
To clarify. It was not just the beer. Which I got delivered, making it really expensive to begin with. I ordered in food as well. Spent money on stuff I didn't need to feel better. It was all the things that were in orbit of the addiction that made it all really expensive.
How much I've spent on drinking, it's terrible. Fortunately money is never an issue and it didn't get me into financial trouble. On the other hand, having access to a lot of money makes it so easy to spend and spend and spend... And the spending started happening when I had my first couple of beers in me. Now that I don't drink anymore, all that spending is gone too.

To me, it was not difficult and very much worth it. My health got so much better.
Withdrawal from cigarettes is very mild. And it lasts a couple of days to a week. From there on it's just the mindset.
Quit. You have no idea what it feels like to actually take deep breaths of fresh air!
