One year!
That's epic, FarToGo! Congrats! Obviously sobriety doesn't fix every problem in life but it does let us face the troubles head on, with all of our tools to bring to bear on them. Things keep on getting better. It's great that you have put those bad years behind you (I drank hard for 25 years before I decided to stop- it's never too late!).

It is, you are so right. Maybe drinking started as an escape, but so quickly became such a huge burden, as if life isn't challenging enough.

Congratulations!
For what it's worth, I thought year 2 was a lot better than year 1. To be honest, I think year 2 just felt so good because year 1 was so hard. Year 3 has turned out pretty good and it's looking like year 4 might just be about the life of my dreams!!
I hope things start looking up for you soon.
