Today marks my 90 day on a sober journey. I wanted to say thank you for everyone's support and advice. Life has gotten better for me. There is a still way go on improvement in my life, but this is a good head start. For all those who are still early, you can truly do it. It will be horrible at first, but like with anything worth while you have to dig deep to make it happen. I can't think of anything in life that is really worth it that didn't take sacrifice, pain or suffering to reach that goal. I hope I can motivate some of you out there that it can be done. It might not be an easy one, but it is worth it when you get "over that hill" . btw did start a graditude list. sober on everyone. And have a safe and productive weekend
Way to go and well said.
The idea of no pain, no gain, is something that I held onto a few times. There's just some basic rules in life. Indisputable truths. For me...that is one of them.
Doesn't necessarily mean the pain is required to be bad or unbearable. I just looked at it like the more it hurt, the bigger the gain will be. It was just a mind game I played.
For every up there's a down was another one. When I wanted to get drunk, I knew without a doubt that the crash would be as big or even bigger due to momentum. It takes energy and force to go up hill. Once the force is stopped, so does the climb. Going down hill is another story.
Congrats on your 90 days! Huge accomplishment that took energy. Don't let up on the gas peddle! It gets even better as you continue to climb!!
