Real day 18, SMART and no sleep

So due to my mind not quite knowing what's happening It's actually day 18 today and not yesterday. It's 2am and my minds whirring round, didnt get to sleep yesterday until 4am.
I went to a SMART recovery group for the first time today, it was fine but not what I was expecting having read a lot of literature about what is meant to happens in a meeting. I also went to the gym to do a static bike ride which was good.
My anxiety is currently quite high but that's due to me needing to sort a couple of things out, actually my mental health has been hugely better in the last 18 days, maybe because the tablets do something useful when not mixed with alcohol.
Still fuzzy head and feel tired but all in all a better day today. The real hard work starts tomorrow as boys are off school for 2 weeks and it will be such fun once theyve got a sugar rush from the Easter eggs on Sunday.!!!!!!!

Congratulations on 18 days! I was also a bit disappointed with the SMART meeting I attended, but the program itself (the toolkit with CBA, etc) helps me tremendously. Keep working the program on your own and of you are looking for fellowship you can always attend AA meetings but work the SMART program on your own. And of course right here on SR 👍
Everyone's journey is different so go with the combination of recovery support tools that work for you.

You could also join Smart online. But really the aim of Smart is to work on your recovery independantly. People offer friendship and support, but basically its a program, that gives you the tools to go ahead with your life independant of needing any groups or external support for your recovery

You can access the toolbox without joining the site. Theres the main Smart recovery..also a Smart UK.
Joining the site is useful as if you are learning the tools there are people there to help show you how to work them right. And of course any companionship that you might need when you first enter recovery

Congrats on your sober time..

Hope you get better rest tonight. I think Smart may be another great tool for your toolbox. Haven't been to a meeting in years. Enjoyed learning their concepts. I think I'll ck their on-line curriculum, when I'm feeling better.

Take care & have fun with your boys!...

Congratulations on 18 days! Don't worry about being off by a day, I actually thought I hit my 18 month mark in February, only to realize weeks later that it was only 17. The hubs and I even went out to dinner to celebrate my year and a half mark, lol! I let my 18 month mark on the 22nd of this month slip quietly by, seeing that I had already celebrated a month early ☺
