I pray in the traditional sense, which is very important to me. I have also found that practicing mindfulness is helpful, and need to work on incorporating it into my daily life.

Yes, I love meditation and mindfulness it works extremely well for me.

I know it works because my mind and thoughts are at rest... it is peaceful in my head. Peace in my head helps me immensely to not pick up a drink. I love that feeling, according to me there is no greater accomplishment in recovery than serenity, thus sobriety.

I meditate about 15 minutes in the morning and 25 at night.

Great topic.

I love guided meditations and use them frequently when I have trouble sleeping or have anxiety. I'm not too good at meditating when there's complete silence.

Hi all I have done meditation for years every day and when I am stressed the most.. not because Iam running away mentally but because it helps me focus on the problem or the solution.. and sometimes it helps me listen harder to something that needs to talk to me... Ed has developed a heart beat problem as of Sunday at midnight.. he is in hospital on observation and meds... meds .. lets be honest they are shooting him up with morphine to still the fast beating... I fell apart at 3am on Monday when they hit him with the first dose.. we worked so hard to stop that and his Pop just passed with that in his veins.. just too much kids and beans .. so I close my eyes in a safe and silent place and listen to my heart and breath. and once in awhile my Pop... I don't want to be 65.. its crap mates.. crap.. you all are a form of meditation you know for the voice in your head becomes the words on the page and clears your heart your brain and your soul for a better next few hours.. love ardy

Oprah&Deepak 21 Day Meditation Experience

This is a free audio series and I've found it helpful as a beginner. You can find it by Googling it. Definitely helps me relax.
