New here
Problem binge drinker here. Easily controlled during the week then drink all weekend. I'm 43 and it's starting to take its toll on me. I want to stop immediately before I lose everything. Thought about AA but not for me. So here I am. I can do it. Need to focus. If I can stop for several days I can quit altogether. Help

Welcome, Matchap!

If not AA, are there any other recovery meetings near you? SoberRecovery works by itself, but you need to read around and post often.

Welcome Matchap. Glad you found us. Always good to have a plan in place to keep you sober. Have contingencies you can fall back on when you are feeling the urge or your AV is getting the best of the situation.

Welcome Matchap! SR has definitely been the most helpful thing for me so keep reading and posting. AA is not for everyone. Personally I do go to a meeting weekly but just for the fellowship, to feel not so alone.
I also have a problem with weekends and find it helpful to literally plan out every hour and make sure SR is accessible if I get hit with cravings.
You can do this!

I don't go to AA either, smart recovery is good I hear as well, I keep meaning to go.
