Thanks for the link, Aries. I've read a lot already.
I don't like this. My daughter pointed out that I look so much happier these days, and I explained that it is because I've cut carbs and alcohol. She said that she likes that I don't drink, and that she trusts me that I won't drink anymore. That made me feel so bad, and thoughts of drinking again flooded my mind. I am driving my husband to the airport tomorrow, while it's too early for my kids to want to tag along, it is late enough for the shops to be open. And now it seems perfectly OK to buy some beers, to drink after the kids are in bed.
Gotta do some soul searching tonite. It can't happen.

that sounds familiar to me.
Fabela, all any of us have to do is stay sober today - if forever scares you, or your daughters hope scares you, just remember it's one day at a time.
I believe anyone can stay sober for 24 hours.
All you have to do then is back up again and commit for another day.
If you feel wobbly when your husband leaves., reach otu here - there will be support
you can do this

No, Zootopia. My 9-year-old is a sucker for animated movies. We're making pizza for dinner and they're raiding their Easter eggs afterwards.
Sunday and Monday will be quiet days, but I'm starting to worry about Tuesday. They're back in school and I have to go to work. It's just one class, but it stresses me a lot. Have to remember to breathe.

You're doing so well, Fabela, it's fantastic to see you getting past all these hurdles you were worried about. As Dee said, forever is a scary word and our AV loves to use that to try and trip us up. But I think I said before, we don't have to not drink forever. We only have to not drink right now. Because it is always right now. And you're on day 11 already. Wow. The sober days do just keep adding up while you keep yourself busy doing other things don't they.
The way your AV took your daughters words of encouragement, and tried to turn them into a trigger is awful isn't it. It really will say and do anything to try and break you. But I love that you're recognising what it's doing and posted on here. That's how to defeat it. Your AV can say what it wants, but ultimately it has no power to do anything. You're the one in charge. And you don't drink any more

That's right, I don't drink anymore. Weird thing to say, but it is in fact true, isn't it? The thing I like the most is the fact that my sane voice is still the voice in charge. I have been exercising it and it is getting stronger every day. Now I have three peaceful days ahead of me, I won't buy any alcohol today and the next two days are public holidays and the shops are closed. Good thing.
Thanks for your encouraging words and support, I appreciate it more than you can imagine.
