Welcome to Sober Recovery. I have never heard of Declinol, which might be indicative of its efficacy. If it worked, I imagine recovered alcoholics would be telling other alcoholics what worked for them.

What recovered alcoholics do tell other alcoholics is find a proven recovery program/method/philosophy that supports their decision to quit drinking.

May I ask, Karma, what have you done in the past to quit drinking?

I have tried therapy, one on one counseling, exercise, hobbies, all worked for a while, but I always seem to find myself back at day 1, usually after making a complete mess of things!!

I wouldn't call it snake oil. However, I didn't see anything on their web site stating that no snakes were harmed in the making of the product. So you never know...

I would ask a medical doctor his or her opinion on this product before I'd drop 300 bucks a month for it.

A lot of us have had multiple tries at quitting, so don't feel bad, just start over again. I don't know about declinol...you could always try Antabuse. But it only works if you take it, as I discovered years ago, lol

Oh S&$#...sorry, I'm not supposed to give medical advice. I mean ask your doctor about Antabuse

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Well...not necessarily. I used intravenous amino acid therapy and it was EXTREMELY effective. And while I do tell anyone who'll listen, it still gets drowned out by mainstream treatments just 'cuz it hasn't reached critical mass yet.

New treatments come out all the time!
