It Doesn't Get Any Better Out There
And please don't hide in the shadows or feel shame or feel you don't have the right to cheer people on. I only say that because it's what I went through at KTC. It was uncomfortable at times cheering on newbies. I felt as though I did not have the right to suggest what to do as I could not do them myself.
Thanks for this as it's definitely something that is on my mind. Helping others, even if it was just an "attaboy" or "I'm listening", was one of the main ways I stayed sober before so it's part of my plan again. I've already joined the March class and am planning on actively participating there and everywhere else on this forum again.
Welcome back CaseyW. I was wondering where you went off to. Glad you found your way back and good for you on not changing your username. It's so hard when we revert back to drinking. I know last time I did it; after 9 months sober; I spent nearly a year drinking 24/7 before coming back here to this community.
Glad to have you back and proud of you for getting back in this fight.
We're here for each other, that's how this place works for all of us.

I just deleted those 68 private messages without looking at them, just couldn't deal with them kinda sitting there staring at me over my shoulder, if you know what I mean. Wanted to start with a clean slate, I guess. Thanks to anyone who sent one, who thought of me while I was away, no offense is meant to any of you by erasing them.
It feels good to be back.
It feels good to be back.
and I suggest that was most likely true for most of them, if not all.
I don't think any of us feels anywhere near as badly about you as you do Casey.
Try and forgive yourself, man

I have been posting a little and reading a lot since December. I too thought about changing my profile because of the embarrassment that I haven't been able to string together more than 2 weeks. But that's not what this site is about. I think the whole SR community appreciates truth and the last thing anyone wants is for members to go away when they aren't doing well. I have stopped all drinking during the week but fail on most weekends. The good news is that I havent talked myself out of the fact that Im an alcoholic and need sobriety. There is no one drink or one night out for me, that ship has sailed. Don't think I really came to grips with that until SR

Hi Casey! I remember you from when I was a "lurker" on the sight before I actually joined. Welcome, I am so glad to see you back! From the looks of responses you have had, you have quite a few friends who are happy you have returned to SR!
Thanks again to everyone who has posted here. Sorry I'm not responding individually to everyone, just know I've read each of your comments at least ten times today and they've made a huge difference in my recovery today. Thank you.

Aaaw Casey - great to see you back here. And sorry for how things have been for you past few months, but I for sure get it! Like most, I've been there more than once.
Take it easy on yourself, and keep doing the stuff that works. I'm not the best poster these days, but I log on almost every day… I never forgot your handle and all the positive messages and posts of CaseyW from Texas!
