found a sponsor
I went to a meeting and got yet another white chip tonight. But I got to catch up with an old friend that I met in the program last year that I had lost touch with. And I asked someone to sponsor me. I am not sure if she will be the right person to sponsor me.. she is 2 years sober but I was originally thinking of getting someone with more time who has had more experience sponsoring and taking people threw the steps and giving direction, guidance, and assignments. On the other hand, she is very friendly and has always welcomed me and she reaches out to people a lot. So I will see how it goes. At the least, it will give me someone to be accountable to and I can pick a different sponsor to take me threw the steps once I string a few 24 hours together. And at the best, maybe she will surprise me and be exactly the right sponsor for me. I also met her sponsor, which is now my new grand sponsor. I didn't drink today. So I think it was a productive day.

So far I am really happy with who I picked as a sponsor. I called her this morning like I told her I would but she didn't answer. We talked on the phone tonight for 45 minutes and she is really easy to talk to. She gave me 3 things she wants me to commit to. 1- commit to doing writing assignments for each step, 2- commit to one meeting that we will both go to every week so we can see each other, and 3- call her everyday. She also wants me to get a notebook tomorrow so I can keep all my writings in the same place. We talked about a lot of things and so far I feel hopeful.
