60 Days Today!!

Here I am at 60 days. Stayed up a few minutes past midnight just to ring it in!

I plan on counting the days up until 90, and then shifting my attention to counting days down toward achievement of new goals.

This was my third attempt at sobriety and so far, so good. Here's what I did differently this time:
  • Took a chance on that amino acid treatment in Atlanta which worked 100% as advertised (and yes, I am happy to talk about it via PM)
  • Kept my distance from 12-step programs and "the disease model" of addiction
  • Focused on health -- mind (exercising some "mood" discipline), body (taking the weight off), and spirit (reinvigorating my Evangelical faith)
  • Got busy planning the life and the future I wanted

No white-knuckling, no PAWS, nothing but a clear bright future! To anyone just starting -- go for it! It's so worth it!

Great job Syracuse! Isn't it amazing how good you feel without the effects of alcohol in your system?

Congrats on 60 days. I didn't even discover SR until 80 days clean. I was just a jumbled mess until then.

For me, the reason I kept drinking like a rock star for the last 15 years was because I was pulling it off. Until I had my dibilitating anxiety attacks just over 10 months ago i didn't want to quit.

If there was a pill or powder that made me feel great in a few days, I would probably still be a drunk or be dead.

The long term mental anguish I suffered helped me to stay motivated long enough to see the amazing physical and emotional results of my sobriety.

My anxiety is a little better each day.

Like my alky buddy says....Sobriety is for people that can't handle their booze.

That's me.

Alcohol is poison.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

But don't be one of those idiots who keeps trying the same thing over and over. Keep trying something new until you find something that works!
