Sobriety Benefits!

Just wanted to say hello, and share how things are going. Today is 68 days sober for me, and I wanted to share some positives and hopefully a little inspiration for those just starting out, or starting again.

Since beginning this journey on January 1st I have:

-Lost 19.5 pounds
-Woken up with a clear head
-Watched my complexion change from blotchy and glassy eyed to blemish free and clear-eyed
-Made time for exercise
-Saved money
-Had less anxiety at work and home
-Been present for my kids and husband
-Read and journaled
-Made lots of new friends in the amazing January 2016 class

This is not the first time I have tried to quit, but there is something different for me this time, and I know that with the support of SR, Women for Sobriety, a few close friends, and me I will remain sober.

I continue to work on mindfulness, and a friend shared a new app with me today called My Calm Beat. It helps focus on breathing, slowing down, and being mindful. Might be a good one for any of you who are also working on mindfulness.

Thank you to everyone on SR, you are all greatly appreciated!

❤️ Delilah

Congratulations on 68 days. Those are all good things you've got going on. Sometimes we just need to tweak the plan slightly and it finally comes together. That's what happened for me. Keep up the good work!

I find that my days are better emotionally and physically, no hangover or ugly feeelings to fight. I take bad news better and oddly enough, talk less.

Thank you Delilah,
Day 2 for me and it helps to read about the positive benefits of sobriety. It's a good reminder. I'll check out that app also. It sounds helpful. Congrats on 68 days!!

Many benefits to the sober life: 1) Health 2) Wealth 3) Relationships.

If you feel like drinking, you aren't thinking! Its not worth it.

Thanks! I started doing Weight Watchers on January 1st as well. The past few years I have gained about ten pounds a year, so I still need to lose another 29 pounds, but I am happy with the start. 2016 is my year to focus on being healthy!
