I am not sure about yours, but my AV is my thoughts, and I can't stop my thoughts. I can however become aware of my thoughts, like I am watching them on TV happening to someone else. This lets me observe them, watch them, watch myself experience them. When I do this, it gives me just enough space so that I get to choose how I react to them.
And my AV? If it is my AV, I never react to it. It can no longer tell me what to do. I know the game, I know the lies and tricks, and I know what happens, every single time.
Now, I watch my AV, I observe it, I understand what it wants and where that will lead. And then it simply goes away, all on its own. I don't really have to do anything at all. I simply accept it. Sorta like this: 'Well, would ya just look at that! Doesn't that beat all. There it goes again!".
I am not afraid of it anymore because it can't cause me any more problems. That's it. You can do it too, TurfWars. Honest.

Glad that you are back.
Why don't you join us at the 24 hours club where we commit not to drink or drug that day? It is a fun and supportive thread

I would also recommend that you join the class of March so you can network and give and get support from your peers who quit at the same time.

You never have to feel that way again, you can do it and we are here to support you

Hi Turfwars!
Lately there has been a lot of talk here at SoberRecovery about having a sobriety "plan." All I want to say is that I like the program of Alcoholics Anonymous, because it focuses on a Twelve-Step "plan" for recovery.
What is your feeling about going to meetings?
