New Journey Begins Today
Hello Everyone,
My name is Michael and I am an alcoholic. I have recently underestimated alcohol consumption in my life and need to build a new support system for sober living. My longest period of sobriety was six and a half years. A few co-workers convinced me to try drinking again. I have determined that I cannot have a positive drinking relationship with alcohol. I work a lot and cannot always make it to a meeting do to schedule restraints. I am glad to have found this forum.

Good start, Michael. Lots of nice helpful people here. I wish I could be one of those who have lots of days under their belt, but I'm not. But I am one who will slay the beast, no matter how long it takes. Get your gear, and let's kill it dead.
Welcome Michael from Atlanta...6 1/2 years of sobriety in your history is great, something to be proud of and something you can draw on for strength. Think back on how good you felt and functioned when you were sober. You can get there again and will love it and value it even more. You will feel so much better.
I know it's tough with peer pressure and all trying to get you to drink and alcohol being everywhere; almost in your face at times. There was a time in my life when I could drink moderately, take it of leave it, etc and I thought I was "safe" with regards to alcohol. Well, that changed and it was no longer safe; never really was; I was just deceived.
Our bodies are just so much better off without putting poison in them. I'm am big into health and fitness and always have been and have found that thinking in terms of what I am putting into my body is very helpful.
You can do this.
