Day 26
Day 26
Today is day 26. As I poised to put a stone in my sobriety jar this morning, I actually found myself smiling and feeling really good amount my commitment to not drink today. It feels so good to have that natural gut reaction rather than a feeling of anxiety and stress as was the case just a few short weeks ago.
So I'm enjoying my coffee and then prepping to head to the gym and to do some errands.
And today I will not drink.

thanks :-). I'm a bit in awe of myself right now. One day at a time has finally resonated with me.
Today is day 27 but I can't start a new thread ... Keep getting a server error.
And I woke up feeling like poo ... Got hit with some kind of cold out of the blue late yesterday afternoon. Hoped I could sleep it off but didn't work. Oh well - such is life and it will pass.
Busy Monday of work ahead and at least dinner's prepped for tonight since I did a bunch of cooking yesterday.

Yeah Baby!!
That ah-huh moment sure is sweet. Maybe you had one earlier. If not, then this may not be your last. Those moments where suddenly you realize it's not that bad, or you notice that you've been feeling really good lately, or you notice that you actually don't want to drink vs can't drink.
Those ah-huh moments can be very powerful and supply you with enough momentum to last a days, weeks, months.
You may recall early on noticing a few things that motivates you to continue...things that have you strength to go one more hour or one more day.
As time goes on, those moments of clarity or appreciation motivates you to go one more week or one more month.
I guess what I'm trying to say is at some point you realize you ARE doing better instead of "I Can do better" .
I'm 10months sober and I still have those Ah-huh moments. I still suddenly become awes of how much better I AM doing. It motivates me to go another 10months.
