2 Years
2 Years
Yep. Today I am two years sober.
Two whole years where I have not only managed to create no more wreckage, but have started to clear away the wreckage of the past. Two years of growth. Two years of learning to take responsibility for myself; my emotions; and my actions.
My life hasn't changed much at all on the outside, but from the inside it is a whole new experience.
This IS a better way to live, and I have so much gratitude for the support I've had along the way, both on this forum, and from the rooms of AA. So much gratitude for the new sober friends I've made. So much gratitude that I chose not to dig my 'bottom' any lower, and that I didn't lose more than just my self-respect and dignity.
Thank you to all of you who have helped me get through the darker days, and helped me figure out how to handle life on life's terms when the road was rocky.
