Day 18 n so naffed off!!!

I should be happy that I have managed to get to day 18 without a drop of alcohol, but I think I got out of the wrong side of the bed!

Woke yet again at 3am n heatings not on. Its freezing cos its thick with snow! Need to go shop to put money on my card so I goes when its open and when I open my purse, no card!!! Great - Ive walked all that way for nothing n I may as well have gone bare foot cos these boots don't work!

Had to trudge all the way back n found card on kitchen unit so off I trot again!

Theres more but I don't want to bore you! Normally when I get stressed like this I turn to booze but it neva crossed my mind! Thank the Lord!

Sorry for moaning - maybe if I go back to bed n get out the other side huh!!!

Yes - I know of what you speak. I woke to my critical husband trying to shame me for coming here. Didn't work. This too will pass!

Ahhh a bad day. My bad days are doozies! Be proud of yourself that you didn't pick up a drink. Do something nice for yourself. It sounds cold where you are. Grab a warm blankie and a mug of tea and relax and watch some soaps!

Good to be able to get it off your chest spadge! I hope it has helped; continue to offload if you need to! I hate those days where things go wrong like that but be very very proud you haven't picked up! Stay wrong and I hope your day gets better.

There is no shame in coming on here, if anything it shows how strong you are. Other people that are un supportive are not needed and may be so due to their own problems they neglect dealing with.

Wrong side is ok - isn't celebrating success along with venting frustration the joy of this site and being with those who get it? I am still with you on day 18, so thank you for staying sober today as I love it we are on the same day!! And tomorrow I will be happy you and I will both be starting day 19. No pressure, just something that gives me strength, so please know your accomplishments are helping me.

God bless!
I am on day 8 and love seeing those with more time with me handling everyday situations without running to alcohol!
I get shamed in so many ways for so much of what I do to stay clean and the most important thing I can stress to you is always put your sobriety first!!!!!
As hard as it gets. Thanks for sharing, please share more!! Never a bore.

Congrats, spadge! Well done.

Daily stressors are probably my worst trigger. Don't worry about the sleeping pills -- I've been taking melatonin and am sleeping much better! Sleepness nights are horrible. Good sleep is important to our recovery.

Day 18, wow!

Congratulations on 18 days spadge! If you can get through a really bad day it's bound to make the subsequent days seem a whole lot easier

Sorry you are naffed Spadge. I had to look up naff but the definitions don't fit the context here. I know it isn't pissed off because that means drunk in U.K, correct?

Or is it like saying pissed off? I love learning this stuff. Congrats on your sober time!

Excellent - love that you are ahead of me by timezone - now when I am at dinner tonight I will know I can make it through the rest of the day because your shining example is already out there!
