Today is day 23

Good morning friends :-)

Yesterday was a very productive though hectic day at work. In the evening we had the rare opportunity to do 'nothing' and took advantage... Frozen pizza for dinner, kids homework done... I worked on my puzzle a bit, and got some quality alone time to recharge.

This morning the alarm went off at 4:30, snoozed to 4:45... And I made a last minute decision to skip the gym. My body is adjusting to the many changes of the last few weeks... No alcohol, eating less (no more eating late at night to absorb the alcohol I consumed), generally eating better (though allowing myself to indulge - like the frozen pizza :-) )... And the workouts that I do are generally tough. I've decided that as my body adjusts to all of this I shall cut myself some slack on the workout schedule much as I did with food especially in the first two weeks. In the most fundamental sense, quitting drinking has drastically reduced my daily calorie intake, which is sure to take an adjustment albeit in a positive way. So I enjoyed the extra alone/quiet time while the family slept.

Busy work day on tap yet again, and then I'm spending the evening with my dad and brother.

And today I will not drink.

Awesome milestone! And yes don't be afraid to be deliberately lazy at times during recovery. I find it helps the good ol' brain and body heal up!
