"My" situation
It's a long story, and I don't really know where to start...
I feel almost hopeless - just like I'm sure most of you have at some point. I'm incredibly grateful that I'm still in good shape to deal with this - mostly thanks to my patient and loving wife. I see addiction taking a toll my life, our relationship, our household, and our future. I'm doing my damnedest to keep from going further downhill.
Edit: The problem is prescription speed (adderall), cigarettes, and caffeine cocktails.

Admitting we have a problem with alcohol
or drugs, our addiction to them, is the first
step. You recognize the problem, now is the
time to seek a helpful and effective solution
to this addiction that causes so much damage
not only to ourselves but affecting those
around us.
Knowing we have a problem and reaching
out for help, for guidance, to lead us to the
right people who have the knowledge of
addiction and can teach us about it and
give us a good helpful effective program
of recovery to help us stop the insanity
of addiction that kills so many in its path
on a daily bases.
Rehabs, councilors, theraphists, rooms
of recovery, online recovery are just a
few sources that can help plant the seed
of recovery and teach us how to incorporate
it in our daily lives.
Just knowing that we are never alone in
this crippling illness, sickness, disease,
and that there is always others who have
been there, done many of the same similar
things we have is comforting.
There is a solution to addiction so no
one has to die from it. With willingness,
openmindedness and honesty to do
whatever we need to do, to go that extra
mile to remain sober or clean will help
you achieve what so many have achieve
already. To be free from addiction using
an effective program of recovery in all
areas of our life one day at a time.
Knowledge is powerful and when backed
up with action makes it more effective.
