Can't sleep!!!

Hi everyone

For the first few days my psychiatrist gave me sleeping tablets but I've not had any last night. Went to bed at 8pm and now its only 3.40am and I am wide awake!!! I neva had any trouble sleeping when I was drinking cos I would until I passed out!

Day 14 today and I am feeling great! Gonna stay on here for awhile n see if I get tired again xxx

Hi Spadge,

8 to 3:30 is a full nights sleep for most people, when I first got sober I found that I had to follow a pretty strict routine of going to bed and waking up at the same times every day.

I also make sure that my bedroom is as relaxing as possible with no television. I also make sure that it looks as if I have a cleaning service. No matter what the rest of my place may look like, my bedroom is always meticulous. For me, it seems to take away the stress of the day when I'm trying to go to sleep.

Thanx Bud

My bedroom is my sanctuary! And I hardly ever slept in my bed cos I used to pass out on the sofa! And I would never have a tv in my bedroom.

I go to bed and read and that makes me tired. Guess I am going too early so will try and stay up later in future. thanx again hun xx

It sounds like it's just too early to go to bed

Nice job on 2 weeks! I go to bed at 8pm every night and get up early. I've become a morning person haha as long as your getting 7-8hrs of sleep you should be good.
