Welcome Busynanaof10

Can you take your cousin to the emergency room?

It's best to have a Doctor diagnose what's going on.

I agree with Opivotal, best to take her to a doctor / emergency room.

Welcome to the Forum Busynanaof!!

Sorry to hear though about what you're having to deal with over your cousin, looking in on someone else's drinking is never easy.

Some medical help is probably a good idea, get things checked out and go from there!!

It might be helpful to buy her what I just bought for myself: an OTC wrist blood pressure reader which also measures pulse and has an alert for an irregular heartbeat.* Especially if she refuses to go to the ER.

Good luck; I hope you can get her to counseling. Does Kaiser offer it?

*edit: heart troubles run in my family.

Welcome busynanaof10 - you'll find a ton of support here

It sounds like your cousin needs medical help. Would she consider going to a Doctor, do you think?

Welcome to the family. If she's withdrawing from alcohol, heightened anxiety is common. It's the brain reacting to not having the depressant alcohol.

She also could have problems with generalized anxiety. Seeing a doctor for help would be her best bet.

I hope she decides to stay sober this time.
