Time to get serious
Hi Everyone - After finding myself drinking after work (and yesterday in the afternoon) every day this week, I've realized I need to be 100% committed to a sobriety plan as trying to do this on my own is not working. So I went to a 7am AA meeting right down the street this morning and will be making that a daily part of my day. I do have a therapist too that's working with me on meditation (haven't gotten past 5 minutes so far a day without racing thoughts) and other tools and I'll continue that work. But after resisting making AA a commitment and only occasionally going, I need to give this program a dedicated effort.
I'm so much happier when i'm not drinking - just need to overhaul my entire lifestyle and feel like it's such a big mountain to climb. Thanks for everyone here and will plan on checking in more regularly about my progress.

Sounds like you have a positive mind-set. Good job! I found out that when I am not drinking I have such a sharp mind and positive outlook that I really wonder why I would sabotage myself with the poison of alcohol. A strong mind beats an alcoholic voice hands down. Keep on doing whatever is working for you. ♡CR
