Hey gettinon I loaded up on food I find alcohol cravings are diminished greatly when I have a full stomach. I denied my body basics like food and water so that I could get drunker and drunker I feel bad like I was neglecting someone and that someone is me

How many days smoke free? I quit smoking as well and am less than a month smoke free. But it feels good even this early on.
My advice for what it's worth gettinon is pretty fundamental. All that I am doing is DEFINITELY not drinking and trying to replace the days and hours spent drinking with more positive pursuits. Doing positive things is not just a means of distraction as that would become tedious eventually but gives me sense of accomplishment and pride in myself. I think most of us here suffer low self esteem and confidence as drinking strips this from us eventually. The advice here is to develop a plan and my plan is about that simple at this stage. Don't drink, engage in positive stuff and hang here on SR. Expect good advice on hooking up with support groups that suit you and maybe line up a counsellor. All are really individual decisions, its not one size fits all. First and foremost just don't drink. I notice that you have given up smoking too why not go to the 24 hour quit nicotine thread? This is my 2nd day off the fags so would be good to have a fellow traveller. Wishing you the best and you have made a life changing decision.
Welcome to the family. Six days is a good start to a sober rewarding life. You should be done with most of the physical withdrawal, now formulate a sobriety plan and get on with your life.
