This song literally hurts me I remembered a song I used to like and looked it up. When I listened to it, it almost hurt physically. Because it reminds me of how I used to be and it has elements of things I've always wanted, but never got because of the alcohol. There's still time though. But if I really need to get a reminder of the horror that is alcohol, I listen to this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ED5s1-Fe9FA |
Reminds me of one of my favorites, from a contemporary of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings. From the album "Singer of Sad Songs" https://youtu.be/TKq0xmSAoAE?list=PL...x36GlNV2KY4BZv |

Time Between Bottles Of Wine? |
One of my all time favorites! Khristopherson had to have lived that to have wrote it |

Yes. Don't know why the link didn't work. Probably my ignorance of uploading links. I listened to it and it's a heavy song. |
And a great cover of a great song: |
Ok... one more cover: Cash seems like the musical equivalent of Flannery O'Connor. Not sure if I can explain that though, lol. |

Have you watched walk the line? It's one of my favorite movies. Good movie to remind us. It's the Johnny Cash life story. I know that this was about songs but another good movie/reminder is crazy heart, with Jeff Bridges. |
Yeah, it's not only that they're both 'storytellers,' but the kind of stories they tell are similar because they're both coming from such religious/spiritual backgrounds. They're both preoccupied with sin, or in Flannery's case, the characters' sins. |

She's an original. :) |
Mike, I can't do a link. Don't know why, maybe it's my phone. Look up "just as I am" by Brantley Gilbert on YouTube. He's sober now too. That song literally hurts me. |

Here's another song...Keith Urban...Nobody Drinks Alone... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWWHu2IFPt0 Also, I watched "The Days of Wine and Roses". I rented it for $2 on Amazon (I have Amazon Prime). It was made in 1962 and is remarkably honest in it's portrayal of alcohol and how it ruins lives. Surprisingly so for a movie dated then. It was so moving for me to watch something that old on this topic...and seeing how alcohol is still the same as it ever was... |
