Wisdom from my mother
"Yes, this mess stinks and it's not fair, and all that. Reality is it's here and we deal with it."
~ mom, in her last weeks living with cancer, when I wrote to her that I was scared of what was to come in the journal that we used to write letters to one another.
... I'm to the point that sometimes now I smile rather than cry when I read these words of wisdom. I'm so thankful for Mom's many words of courage in the face of adversity and lessons of steadfast hope... But also the recognition that acceptance of reality is so critical to one's well being.
