Eating all of the bad foods..

Ok - not literally, but I'm definitely cutting myself some slack on the food front right now. I'll give that a few more days before I stress about it and dial it back in. But darn those peppermint m and m's are good! :-). (And so was the spinach and tomato white pizza at lunch :-)

when I first got sober I ate more chocolate in a year than I had the previous ten combined... by far
whatever it takes to keep off the booze, then get yourself back to eating whatever it is you feel healthy with...

Lol. My guess is it's likely a wash on calories. I figure most days I consumed minimum 600 easy just in alcohol. Gadzooks.

Ice cream I can usually do without ... Chips or pizza though? Watch out

I had quite a sweet tooth for the first six months or so. Then I gradually got back to a decent diet of good food. But I still like dark chocolate once in a while.

I think I should buy stock in Ben & Jerry's. Like Brain said, I've eaten more ice cream since quitting than in my entire life. It's evened out since when I first quit. I've gained weight but I could handle that since I drank most of my calories before.

Ice cream and Skittles ruled my house for the first few weeks. I still keep a few pints of ice cream in the freezer at all times for when I need a fix. I didn't used to be a sweets person but once I got sober my sweet tooth came on full force!

Wait, where did you get those m&ms!?!?! I found them in Taiwan last month and I thought it was an Asia thing as I had never seen them back home! Maybe I am just blind.

I also cut myself a lot of slack on food when I first quit. Whatever helps!

Same goes at present - normally I'm obsessed with healthy eating but trying to relax on any obsessions altho presently sugar and carbs are in the driving seat, 2 chocolate bars last night was not too great but not beating myself up about it for the time being.

I found them 75% right after Christmas and had several bags hidden in a cupboard to dole out slowly for the kids in the candy jar. Suffice to say the jar is now empty. 😬
