I guess I need to stop asking now and let it go. :)

Its likely they will draw blood and do a complete blood profile. It may range from blood sugar, cholesterol, to liver enzymes. Not to be graphic but the color of your stools are sometimes indicative of the health of your liver. I repeat...sometimes. Its not absolute.

Go to the Doc. They will run blood tests. I drank like a pig for years and I was and am amazed that I had no liver damage whatsoever. Thank you God!

Go see your Dr Mike - they will know what tests to do.
The overwhelmng likelihood is you'll be fine :)

My drinking led to my liver enzymes being high, my red blood cells enlarged, an enlarged spleen and vitamin d and b12 deficient.... Apart from being tired all the time I wouldn't of known anything was wrong, blood tests and ultra sound told all! All is back to normal now thank god. Worth having your bloods checked to see whats what x

I'm glad you're planning to call the dr tomorrow, Mike.

I had 5-6 years of regular binge drinking before I started to notice symptoms of potential liver damage: dark orange urine, easy bruising, spider web veins on my shoulders and severe pain in my upper right quadrant.

During the first week of sobriety, I had some odd aches and pains...flu-like come to think of it, and nasty, smelly sweats.

Those went away after about 2 weeks.

I have yet to go to the doctor, but here's what I noticed in early sobriety:
-short temper, easy to be angered
-incessant urges for sweets
-manic and depressive cycles that aren't debilitating, but rather inconvenient
-GI upset
-insane caffeine tolerance
-uncontrollable bouts of sleepiness, not tiredness but a feeling of not being able to keep my eyes open
-occasional difficulty concentrating

I haven't seen a doctor because none of these has prevented me from living my life, but I'm thinking I'll go if I don't notice an improvement after 60 days; I'm on day 41.

Given what you described, I'd go see a doctor right away! Why wait? The sooner the better.
