Guilty - of wanting to eat this Snickers bar that's sitting next to my hand.

Tetra, very sweet picture of you. You're getting there.
ZeldaFan, congrats on 4 weekends! That's terrific.
Gettingsmarter - that is totally awesome! I love it!

Mesa, what you said about the photos. I kind of figured that was the issue. It's just odd that it's just my phone. I can see stuff when I'm on my desktop or iPad.

A little more than an hour and it's 4 day weekend time! Yay!

Aw tetra what a little angel! So sweet!

Wish I had a snickers, Ruby. I only had an apple for lunch while running errands.....about to eat a cough drop to tide me over!!

Not had a chance to catch up on the thread yet, but guilt is a definite theme for me right now...

Son's teacher called me requesting a meeting regarding his 3rd grade reading test. Which although they would not say on the phone, I assume means he failed. Which I told them he would. I requested some time ago that he be tested as his reading and writing were just not progressing, and his trouble with these was beginning to affect his grades across the board. They did some interventions, but said he was ok. I feel guilty as I should have fought harder for him. I knew their was an issue. Now he has failed the state tests. Now, the school will be implementing an intensive 3 month program for him and he retests, if he fails again he will be held back in 3rd grade

He is a really smart kid. He just cannot read, the words move around for him, he loses his place constantly, he writes right to left and things are reversed. He works so hard to do it "right". So, I contacted a parent advocate group, and hopefully they will assist me in navigating this and getting him the help he needs.

I just feel guilty, like I should have/could have done more. It sucks.

Welcome to any new passengers. Stick around and pipe in if the mood takes ye.

Enjoy your well deserved 3 day weekend Ruby. Do something nice for yourself.

Nice pic Tetra. You are developing every day. Compare and despair is the mind killer.

Greetings everyone else!!

This weekend, I'll be mostly eating cheese and all things dairy. Doc has ruled out cows milk allergy for junior. Shopping and cooking vegan was a nightmare. Almond milk was tasty.

Think we might be doing a day trip down mexico way on Sunday for a birthday celebration.

One more day. Lots to do this weekend. Sober, guilt free.

B

evening gang... not sure I ever mentioned how much I love the name 'Glen' for a dog.

awesome bus GS. alright, and cute baby, girly pictures too...

I noticed that baby already had a beer gut... it seemed at least...

Spent the afternoon shopping for my wife, I told her what she got me

Couldn't find 'oil eater' to save my life tho. Remembered rug cleaning stuff. The local dollar general wants 30 bucks a day to rent a rug doctor type device. Home depot 20/4 hours... I guess prices go up while you are sleeping. I noticed eggs went up 50% in the past month - FIFTY!

I gave up after 4 stores trying to find green peppercorns, but I finally got the peppermill I wanted for xmas, and a couple oil cruets/dispensers.

got two venison chops going in the toaster coated with a steak rub.
snow peas will will be sauteed and a couple fish fillets will be poached.
Tomorrow morning I start on the carpet downstairs - the joy.

Not going anywhere Ruby?

sorry about the rollings stones up there...

I need help. Ladies? Wife wants to go to a movie for her birthday on Monday. Any suggestions? Most of them look like crap. Not sure a 2.5 hour movie where a guy fights off a bear attack would work for her. I could take a can of bear spray along tho... I still have the two cans we had to get to go hiking in yellowstone... actually, a guy got killed by a bear there the day before we arrived at that area to find our trail closed

Hi! Just checking in- don't have time to catch up!
My neighbour is cooking me dinner, and he recorded a bunch of serial killer documentaries on his tv for me; because I don't have a tv( knows the way to my heart)
Anyway, went online and collected a bunch of guys.
Now I have a date for every night next week.
Half the fun is weeding through them all- I put my pics up, collect a few, take pics down.
Kinda like fishing
One of them told me my profile ( part I can't see) describes me as
Literary
Indie
Less wholesome
Haha! All true

oops, too late to edit, so I hog the thread again...
wife saw me looking at Yellowstone data and declared she wants to see that movie with DeCaprio in it. So it's settled, I think she'd want to see a movie of him just reading a newspaper...

Recorded history of confirmed bear kills in Yellowstone back to 1916.
8 total.
5 up until 1986, we arrived in yellowstone on July 5th 2011, the next day a guy was killed, a month later another guy was killed, Aug 2015 one guy was killed - an experienced employee of the park.
Since we was there things have picked up... Go Bears!

I'm home and the dryer repair guy is making an evening call to fix the darn thing which means, hopefully, that I get most of the day to do my own stuff. I've got to drop some clothes off at the thrift store.

I have also decided that I'm going to start making at least one recipe a month from each of the three magazines I'm still subscribed to. Martha, Cooking Light and Bon Appetit. There is a recipe for tangerine sticky ribs in the Martha that looks good.

And I get to clean. Whoo hoo. Mr. Ruby has been off and home all week but has done absolutely zip. Nothing. Nada.

LA, I'm sorry that you're not getting support from the school for your son. I feel your frustration. It should be obvious to them

less wholesome is a big selling point

edit:
I saw mesa's message and I'm thinking huh? What did I say this time to get the PC police after me. I know I was thinking it but I'm pretty sure I didn't suggest to Js that she get her "protection" from costco - cheaper by the gross.

Then I saw ken's post about his trousers optional teleconference. ... pass.
I was worried for a minute there.
