Question Is it just me?

Hello all,

I am a newcomer to the forum.

Hope you all are well.

I just have a quick question?

I have been sober for 4 months.

Since I stopped drinking, I started breaking out with pimples on my face and chest.

I tried everything.

I religiously drink Aloe juice on an empty stomach every morning.

Nothing works.

Any ideas, or is it just me?

Congrats on four months sober! I would suggest seeing a dermatologist.

Congrats on four months. I had an increase in break outs too and I suspect it was due to the increased amount of sugar and junk food I was eating to get through cravings. Could this be a possibility? I've eliminated sweets recently and have noticed a HUGE difference. Don't try to eliminate everything at once though. I focused on staying sober for a year and now have been 6 weeks without sweets.

It's quite common. It's all the toxins in your body escaping from lack of alcohol. Congrats on the 4 months!

Could be excess build up if toxins finally leaving your body, I noticed some skin problems about the same time as you. It finally called down and went away.

Hello guys,

Thank you all for your replies and making me feel so welcome.

Do you think that we could ever have a drink like normal people again.

Like have a glass of wine at dinner.

Or a social drink with a friend after work?

It's hard to think that this is possible.

Prevention is better than cure?

I can not drink again, Life gets horrible for me.

I think once we cross a line, there is no going backwards.

Alcoholics can never drink normally again, not even after a long period of abstinence. I tried to drink normally but always failed. I finally came to the realization that it was easier for me to not drink at all.

This is every alcoholics dream in the beginning to find a way to keep alcohol in thier lives

You can try by all means but by cutting alcohol out of my life my life is now far far better
