I'm checking in to say good night and to say thank you for all the wonderful support.

It was a huge bummer to set my sobriety counter to today. But it's ok. I do like to count days and wherever I'm at with sober days is better than any time spent drinking.

I'm so glad I had that date today. We went for tacos at my friend's restaurant. They didn't let me pay. They said remember when we weren't doing good and you took a big group of us out for dinner and we had a wonderful time? Well we love you so much and we never forgot that.

It almost made me cry. I'm only as alone as I choose to feel. My friend also mentioned he's so glad I don't drink and that they don't party like they used to bc we are all older now, and that they want to hang out with me sober anytime. It was a perfect interaction, truly heartfelt and wonderful.

And the date? It lasted eight hours. After the long lunch we went back to his place. That's enough said about that. It was a very great day. We like each other and we both said we would like to spend more time together.

Thanks again for having my back, guys. I'm not going to drink again. I still feel sour in the stomach, and I'm not willing to feel this way again.

I do think it shows you have some work to do tho?

sometimes fighting the AV is exhausting...It can be indefatigable...the trouble is every time we give in, it grows a little stronger...

I really believe you want to be sober Melina -I think you need to reflect that a little more tho.

I've been there too...I remember it well...if you give in, its inevitable your AV won't...and that sucks.

Thank you, Dee. I was over eight months sober and I thought I would have difficult moments but that I would not ever drink again.

I'm not sure what exactly is missing from my plan or toolbox.

I have no desire to drink so I will take this time to grow my plan and ask for more help.

I'm not giving in to the AV again. It can choke to death. Drinking last night was a gross experience.
