Day 1 is coming to a close !!! I had the urge to get myself some wine but ate instead ???? I had 6 taco's and am eating a huge bowl of custard. I hope I do not trade out one bad habit for another !

Hey Smash1033, congrats on wrapping up day 1. Hope you'll join us in the February 2016 class thread here. Being around others who are newly sober has been of great benefit to me over the last week.

Six tacos sounds good to me. It's a good way to kill cravings if you eat a good meal. I know if my stomach was full, I was much less likely to want to drink.

You can work on dieting later, get sober first.

Hey, your drinking is the same as mine was- literally the same.
I quit before it got out of control and I totally don't regret it.
I didn't want to keep going before things got really bad.

Smash,

Really great thoughts here.

Maybe you should embrace the evening gym crowds for a while and treat it as healthy socialising.

You got this.

Smash,

I hear you completely on the split personality and guilt.

See when I'm drinking, I don't like who I am and the sober me honestly doesn't recognize the drunk me. Naturally, this leads to extreme guilt and anxiety.

I'm new at this too but I think we'll be alright.
