1st hello post

I want to recover but can't think how to replace the alcohol in my life. Maybe speaking on here will help because it's ruining my life.

Welcome, juancarlos, to SR; very glad you found us.

Have you considered joining an SR Class; it's a great way to 'speak' with people who are at the same stage of their addiction and struggling with the same issues (how to fill their time, etc.). I'll post the link to the Class of February 2016 in a minute.

Welcome Juancarlos to a excellent recovery community we have all been there feel free to share as much as you want no one will judge you here

Have you thought about any AA or Smart recovery meetings to help group therapy really helped me in the beginning as did reading & other things like journalling

If you need any help formulating a plan look over these links

Welcome Juan! Quitting drinking is not losing. It's getting our lives back. Lotsa support here. We've all been right where you are at. The good news is you could be on this side of the fence tomorrow. Just jump. Life is much better w/out booze.

Welcome, Juancarlos!

I try to keep all addictions out of my life, and so for me it was not a matter of finding a replacement for alcohol. I needed to change my life around so I do not need addictions.

Welcome Juancarlos,

Try reading the success stories around here. Let yourself believe that things can get better, imagine where you want to be in a year...

Welcome to SR, Juan Carlos.

The decision to get sober is the best thing any of us chose. We were where you are once.

It gets better. Just starting the process by summoning the courage to post is an amazing beginning.
