hi Press me......just a suggestion, instead of trying to think of something good to do why not focus on putting together the conditions that will inspire you to find the right thing. For example, arrange to travel to somewhere exciting that you have never been, maybe travel alone and see where it takes you. Maybe make a couple one friends or pick a sporting challenge and join a club to train for it.
Travel has been the single most important and meaningful thing I have done with my time and my money. Plan a trip somewhere, it doesn't have to be far, just somewhere different and new.
Years ago, before alcoholism ate me to pieces, I felt like I had accomplished a lot in my life but felt something was missing. I wanted to expand myself culturally and intellectually. I decided to move to a foreign country, learn a new language, make a spot for myself all by myself. So I researched how it would be possible- finances, paperwork, visa, etc. and did it. 10 years later I am still here in my foreign country, I am nearly fluent in the language (though not in the bureaucracy!) and I will be eligible for elective citizenship in two years. Never, ever did I expect this when I was just starting making my plans. And let me be clear, this is no bragging post, what I hope I have conveyed is how easy it is. What holds so many people back is just not getting started. I only had to put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward.

and discipline your mind.
You'll find writing the same way--actually sitting down putting words
on paper daily is a discipline which has its rewards, but is not exactly "fun"
while you're doing it.
All of the above sound wonderful.
I am with Thumpa about the hiking.
If you're in Oakland, check out Redwood Park and Tilden.
I used to run miles there and both are amazing.
Be in your body and your mind
I also suggest taking up cooking
Preparing a few dishes really well is something you can do for you
or your new sober friends
Yoga was life-changing for me--try the hot variety
and prepare for the detox of your life.
Great job on 7 days pressme

You sound just like I did in those early weeks of being sober! High on life! And it's fantastic to start making big plans. But a little reality check may be needed here.
Don't forget to make some immediate plans that will contibute to you staying sober and help you to shape your future. Throwing in your job and becoming and artist may be an amazing thing to do in the long term but will probably not be a viable option over the next few months.
Why not look at some health and well being goals that go hand in hand with sobriety? A half Marathon? A sponsored walk across a challenging area? A weekend retreat on mindfulness, meditation, yoga? A vacation which integrates that activity you already love or have always wanted to try... art, cooking, scultpture etc etc
I once went on a weeks cycling Holiday in Spain, as a cycling novice. I cried (oh the shame of it !!) the first morning, struggled every step of the way but met some amazing people, saw some breath taking scenery and developed muscles where I did not know I had any.
Well done on day 7!!!!!!

If you go for learning guitar, I found it easier (less frustrating) to either have a few lessons and my preference jam with a friend you will learn it a lot quicker and more fun.Start with an acoustic then go to electric! I use my electric in the kitchen sometimes with headphones, this wont disturb anyone ;-)
I passed my motorbike tests (5 in total in UK) completed last test two weeks after stopping drinking, the thrill and enjoyment far exceeds the dreaded booze and I haven't touched a drop since, plus you meet lots of friendly people.
