Too silly to mention...but I will anyway!

I am on day 11...and for 11 days not only have I not had alcohol...but I have not had indigestion!!!! For I don't know how long I have needed to take at least one indigestion a day...I know it is a silly thing to be posting about but...it led me to wonder...

What is the silliest thing you've noticed about being sober?

Being 100% there, present, undistracted, focused but still able to take in more awareness if required. Not silly, rather, a revelation!

What finally pushed me sober was the realization that my digestion issues were most likely caused by alcohol. I'm trying to keep the SIBO at bay and that, truthfully, is an absolute blessing. I can't drink and feel good. Boom. Motivation.

Congrats on Day 11!

The silliest thing I've noticed is that since I've stopped drinking my farts smell of roses.

Strange but true. My dog is much happier too. Much less blame culture in the house.

Not silly at all! Not having to deal with reflux or heartburn is wonderful!

I'm noticing that two brownish areas on my face are clearing up after only 27 days. I guess they call them liver spots for a reason!

But best of all...my respiratory allergies have almost completely disappeared. Usually this time of year with the house closed up, the woodstove going, and multiple pets, I usually spend my mornings sneezing continually, cursing, and going from tissue box to tissue box. Gone!

AMAZING.

Congrats on Day 11, nova. I had heartburn until I quit - and stomach issues too. Glad you're feeling good.

The silliest thing I have noticed is that I don't think I talk nearly as loud now!

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

I notice that even a little bit of alcohol makes people dumb and boring. Half of one drink, and the interesting conversation just completely loses focus and momentum. Check please!

I used to have real problems chopping onions -- eyes stinging like acid had been poured into them, tears streaming down my face, etc. I cook a lot, so this was very noticeable. Right after I stopped drinking, that went completely away and has not bothered me since... Who knew?
