My smokin' SO
Well, yes he is hot! But he also smokes cigarettes. Going through the last four days has made me appreciate some similarities and some differences. If and when he quits if he relapses, he'll start again. Sound familiar? But quitting won't be motivated by an in-your-face-it's-now-or-never type quality. He has to want to quit either for some future health value, or because he gets cancer (like his dad) and finally gets the message. Anyway, have just been thinking that for me the health, social and career loses, and current regrets slungshot me into this with ripe determination. He doesn't have, nor would he, push... So... And I know how hard this is for all of us, but in a way I think getting so bad you have no choice is in some way easier than choosing to quit smoking when it is only slowly ruining your life...
I'm not saying being addicted to nicotine is harder!!!! Do not read me as suggesting that. I'm just suggesting that quitting is harder when you have less to lose...
And the reason I bring this up is because there's been a lot of chatter about high functioning alcoholics. I think until you feel like you are losing control and admit that it has already started ruining your health and RULiNG your life, you won't feel that catapult like push into Day 1.

Well, I certainly didn't quit until it was almost too late.
But, if I've learned anything, I know now it need not be that way.
A desire to quit and a good support network can achieve miracles.
I'm always pleased when someone gives up without having to lose everything like I did

when I made the choice to stop drinking I slowly took away cigarettes too, like I was about two weeks when I kickes my smoking to the side, even after relapsing I realised I love having a smoke with my drink but shortly after relapsing I stopped smoking again,I just figured what's the point in quitting alcohol if I couldn't give up both toxic poisons, good luck hope all goes well
