What's your best advice for recovery - in 10 words or less?
Don't entertain the thought of drinking.
A man or woman is what they thinkith.
If I keep thinking about drinking I will drink (proven over and over yet again).

what they told me back in the day (circa late 1980's) in AA:
1) Don't drink
2) Go to meetings
3) Follow instructions
and the instructions are:
1) Don't drink
2) Go to meetings
3) Follow instructions
some called it the two step program, which laid the groundwork for the full 12 steps.....I had to become humble and willing to do whatever it takes and to follow the examples set by others with more time than I.
