You have gotten lots of great advice.

My two cents is that we have all used alcohol as a coping mechanism to try and control the issues that were the most important for us, and which we felt we had no control over.

Take that away and obviously we feel exposed.

This is what the 12 steps were geared to relieve, and if you can find the right group, this might be helpful in alleviating some of your concerns.

But if its not, that is OK too, but try to find some way to come to terms with your humanness with all its imperfections -- embrace them.

I find I have become an observer of my life, but that stops today. Jon me in becoming a doer.

Thank you all, wow, I really appreciate all the responses.

I'm off for a walk, get myself moving, I do love the hangover free mornings, that never gets old.

I have a lot to think about. I do have a lot of interests but it's funny how I can't remember what I used to do/ my interests, before I started drinking, and I only drank for 10-11 years.
Happy Sober Sunday everybody.
