Doing Well on Road Trip Home
So far, so good. My road trip back to Syracuse is on pause since I ran into Jonas in MD. I'm in a friend's home -- a dear friend who has declared today his Day 1 because he'd like to stop drinking, and I'm here fresh out of detox and stuck in his home through the storm. There's alcohol in the house but he hasn't offered any. If I feel an urge during the night, I'll pour it out and make it right with him later.
I stopped to see family yesterday and they were all drinking. I ordered a virgin mojito and felt comfortable.
Can't wait to get back into my own alcohol-free environment!
This weekend is a good strength-builder. I'm cooped up, bored, lots of time on my hands. So far, the cravings have been minimal.

Glad you're safe and sound. The storm really is packing a wallop, isn't it? Keep up what you are doing. There's nothing wrong with being bored. Use that time on your hands to read, relax, look at the snow, make a gratitude list that you're safe and sound and sober. You're doing alright.

Can you believe I'm comfortably sober (for the most part) in a home with alcohol in it?
