I know that this is aimed at Fragile Childhood but I'd suggest that partners and near friends could have similar perceptions of us when we are drinking/drank.

Wow, that just hurts my heart. I thank God that my son is too young to remember me as drunken buffoon. Here's to hoping he will never, ever witness it, and that he will only know the upstanding, joyful, smart mommy he deserves.

I'm sure my kids have seen Mommy as too self absorbed at times, don't want them to see that anymore.
